I can’t believe we just passed by Labor Day, and we are heading into three of my favorite holidays; Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!  I have a few updates for you on upcoming events!

First off, your Leadership Committee would like to thank you and our whole Benchmark team for your continued commitment to Deloitte University during this unprecedented ‘slow’ time.  We realize last week, and this week are tough with the low occupancy in our hotel and the limited hours available. After the extremely busy Intern/Summer season, hopefully we are using this little break to recharge.  While we are not in control of DU’s occupancy, we are working closely with Deloitte to try to minimize slow times like this.

Thursday, September 12^th – Annual Free Flu Shots

On September 12^h,we will host our annual free flu shots between 6:30am to 9am or 2pm to 4pm hosted by Tom Thumb Pharmacy.  This is a quick and convenient way to receive your annual flu shot, and we are paying for it. Please stop by the Basement Training Room for your free flu shot.  This is for all Benchmark employees and is no cost for you.  Just show up on September 12^th,no registration needed.  Bring your medical insurance card if you have one.

DU Family Picnic – Saturday, September 14^th

• The picnic will go on, rain or shine!
• Times are 11am to 3pm.
• Self-Guided tours of DU are available.  Most guest areas are open to visit except the Amphitheater – there will be guests in the Amp.
• We will have face painters, balloon artists, photo opportunities, pony rides, petting zoo, games and of course, awesome food, drinks and maybe even an ice cream truck!

Associate Engagement Survey –September 30^th to October 11^th

We want you to BEE ready for our Associate Engagement Survey!  The survey takes place twice a year.  We truly want this to be the best place you have ever worked which is why we do the survey!  We have had department action plans in place which we hope has driven your satisfaction working at Benchmark! 

Cornhole for a Cause Tournament – Saturday, October 5^th

Come participate in our 3^rd annual Cornhole for a Cause Tournament.  $10 entry fee per
2-person team.  This will be hosted at the Roanoke Food Pantry in downtown Roanoke.  All proceeds and food donations will go to the Food Pantry.   This year, we will also host a “Hole in One” competition during the tournament.  $20 to participate and whoever gets the most “hole in ones” will receive half of the pot (the other half is donated to the Food Pantry).  Sign up at the HR Office by Friday, September 27^th!

DU Holiday Party – Saturday, December 7^th

Please ensure you Save The Date for this year’s Holiday Party.  At our last All Hands meeting, all associates had a chance to vote on this year’s theme.  And I am excited to announce the theme of the 2024 Holiday Party is……Old Hollywood
